ACOG 
Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight. A trademark of Trijicon. ACOGs are 1.5x-5.5x short scopes that are designed for the bullet drop of a carbine or rifle firing 5.56mm NATO rounds.
AEG 
Auto Electric Gun
AEP 
Auto Electric Pistol
Air Nozzle 
The part attached to the Cylinder head funnels the air against the BB.
ANSI rating 
American National Standards Institute. When buying Goggles make sure is has a ANSI impact rating of Z87.1
Anti-reversal latch 
A small latch that prevents the gears from spinning back once the trigger is released.
Automatic 
A firearm that fires continuously while the trigger is held down.
Barrel Suck 
The phenomenon that apparently occurs when an AEG Piston begins retracting while a BB is still in the barrel, causing a loss in FPS due to the Piston sucking back air from the barrel behind the BB.
Battery 
An assembly made up of chemicals and electrical contacts that has the ability to store and release electrical energy.
Battery Pack 
More than one Cell wired in series or parallel in order to gain increased Voltage or MAH compared to a single Battery.
Bevel Gear 
The Bevel Gear is the first main gear within the Gearbox. This gear transfers energy from the motor's Pinion Gear to the chain of gears within the Gearbox.
Bolt Action 
A rifle that requires the cocking of the bolt after every shot to load another round into the chamber.
Bore Up 
Bore Up kits allow more air to flow behind the bb. Bore-Up cylinders have a slightly larger inner diameter than standard cylinders. Bore Up Piston heads have a larger outer diameter to match.
Cell 
A slang term generally referring to a NICD or NiMH Battery.
Chronograph 
A device used to measure the velocity of BB. Rated in FPS, it measures the time the BB takes to travel from one point to another.
Clip 
A device for holding cartridges to be loaded into a firearm. NOT to be confused with a "Magazine".
CQC 
Close Quarters Combat.
Cylinder 
The Cylinder contains the volume of air to be pushed out of the Gearbox. The Cylinder houses the Piston assembly.
Cylinder Head 
The part which is attached to the Cylinder and forces the compressed air volume through a small opening, creating a focused stream of air.
Cylinder Port 
Usually 2 holes located on the Cylinder providing a breathing point for the Piston assembly.
Dead Rag 
Red cloth or rag carried to visually signal a "dead" player.
Discharge 
A drain placed on a Battery that removes electrical energy from it. Your airsoft gun will Discharge a Battery as you fire it. Also refers to the process of emptying the remainder of the energy remaining from the Battery after it is removed from use and before charging.
Flash Hider 
The device attached on the muzzle of a weapon's barrel to prevent or reduce the visible flash produced on firing
FPS 
Feet Per Second. Used to determine the speed of the bb's being fired out of your replica.
FTK 
Full tune-up kit. A kit that comes with every part to upgrade the internals of your Gearbox.
