First Look-
The AGM M4 comes in a cardboard box with hard foam inside. The package includes the AGM M4, magazine, black tip, cleaning rod, speed loader, sling, bb's and manual. When first picking up the gun I was shocked that the gun was only $184 shipped. It just seemed to perfect.
The Gun
When first handling the replica I was very impressed with the quality. I wasn't expecting much seeing the gun only cost $184 shipped. Stock the gun comes with a metal body that does not come with any trademarks. Just like the real steel the grip is hollowed out since it does not need to store a motor. Out of the box the gun had a slight barrel wobble that did get a little worse over time but it isn't anything major like what happens to the TM M4's. This problem is easily solved by using an AR tool to tighten the barrel nut. Stock is 6 position. The castle nut on the buffer tube seems to work its way loose after some use causing the stock to have a slight wobble. Tightening the castle nut dosnt fix all the wobble but it does make it a little better. The gun weighs just under 6 pounds without the magazine. The hand guards are smooth plastic while the stock has a slight texture to it. Overall the gun looks like every other M4 on the market just without trademarks.
Internals-
Bolt- 7.1oz
Recoil Buffer & spring- 1.0oz
The bolt release is for locking back the bolt when your magazine is empty but this failed to work after less then 1000 rounds through the gun. Every so often the bolt will lock back when the magazine is empty and sometimes it will allow you to keep firing even when the magazine is empty and may lock after a while but it dosnt function like it should. There really isn't much to say about the internals of a GBB because there isn't really many parts to talk about.
Magazine
When first picking up the magazine it feels like a solid chunk of metal. It is very heavy compared to a regular AEG magazine. The AGM GBB magazine weighs 15.8oz while a regular AEG magazine weighs 7oz. The magazine provided holds 50 rounds. The gas is loaded through the backside of the magazine unlike pistol magazines where the gas is loaded through the bottom. After only putting a couple hundred rounds through the gun I already started to notice the magazine was leaking from the top. With the magazine fully charged with gas you can get around 1.5 mags use before the gas runs out.
Hop-Up-
The AGM M4 GBB comes with a plastic hop-up. The hop-up on the GBB is much different then a hop-up on a AEG. The hop-up adjuster is located under the hand guards and is a white wheel. The wheel is very loose which makes it hard to make a precise setting but once its set it seems to hold its setting. Overall the hop-up is cheap but gets the job done.
Conclusion-
Overall this is a very entertaining gun to add to your collection. If you are thinking of getting into GBB then this is an excellent gun to start out with because of the amount of replacement parts on the market and the low price. Sure the gun has some issues but nothing that cant be fixed with a little bit of work. Just remember you get what you pay and at under $200 you are going to run into some issues.
Pros-
-Cost
-Metal Body
-Replacement/Upgrade parts on the market
Cons-
-Magazine leaks
-Bolt catch fails
